I was so annoyed, really? a paper about a picture? but... then I got an idea!
so here it is!
~Mona (Monna) Lisa~
Lisa felt her back getting stiff
from sitting so still, and her smile that had started beautifully had now
drooped into a slightly less joyful expression. When would Leonardo da Vinci be finished!
A squeal from her five-year-old
daughter Anna Marie, made Lisa jump, turning her head to see what had happened;
“Mona Lisa, sit still!” she could almost hear
Leonardo scolding her through the painting.
“Antoinette, help your sister!” she
hollered to her older daughter before turning back to look at Leonardo; her
smile had turned into a stressed little line, she tried to make her eyes and
face look relaxed.
She was so bored and her
children needed her.
Her husband, Francesco would be
home from work in an hour or so and she wanted to freshen up and have supper
ready and the children clean before he got there.
Unconsciously she gripped her wrist
in an attempt to do something!
The sun was setting behind her when
Leonardo had finally finished for the day.
Rushing to change Luigi, she yelled
for Antoinette to help Anna Marie get washed up.
She opened the pot of sauce that
had been simmering all day and gave it a quick stir, after tasting it she threw
in some more basil and a dash of salt and hurried to boil the water for the
pasta.
Anna Marie set the dishes on the
table and Antoinette sliced and buttered the bread.
Francesco entered the house with
Luigi on his shoulders,
“Papa!” Antoinette and Anna Marie
cried running to their father.
Lisa straightened her sore back and
waited until the children had greeted their father before she said anything.
“How was your ‘modeling session’
today?” Francesco asked her teasingly as she greeted him.
“Terrible.” She said with a
sigh. “I don't know how much longer it
will take for him to do this painting… he has already been working on it for
three years!”
“I'm sorry, that is frustrating...” Francesco said awkwardly as he stared ravenously at the food.
Lisa smiled at her husband's obvious interest in the meal before him. “Let’s eat?”
she proposed.
As everyone
ate the delicious Italian style pasta, Lisa knew that someday all this
‘modeling’ stuff would be over and her family could go on with life as normal.
What she didn't know was that it
would be another year before it was over, and she would become famous;
Her family and herself in their little world inside the picture
frame would go all over the world, on the internet, in museums;
That someday, she would be one of the most famous paintings.
It still needs a little more to make it into an actual two/three page paper but this is what I have so far!

I like it!
